How You Truly Become “WOKE”
All people slip in and out of consciousness thousands of times a day (conscious thought that is)! When you are planning something new or are in a new situation, your conscious mind or analytical mind is engaged. This is how you learn how to truly become “WOKE”.
When you are in scenarios you’ve been in before (especially ones that you feel comfortable with) you are usually not consciously engaged. In these cases (most of the day for most of us), your subconscious mind is in control. This is the home of your habits and beliefs, your versions of right and wrong, good, and bad, etc. Your sub-conscious is a vast database of automatic responses based on your beliefs.
Therefore, it is the very few who manage or lead themselves and others consciously. Research shows most people are in the subconscious mode around 95% of the time. To function/lead consciously is to operate through active attention, choice, and focus and disengaging your autopilot.
This is where you say to yourself, “Well, that should be easy enough.” It may have been easy, if we were not trained by others as we grew up to be reactionary (subconscious mind) and not response oriented (conscious mind). The old, “When I say jump, you jump!” mentality. In other words, react, don’t think!
Since most all of us were trained to react to conditions, to become a consciously functioning leader, parent, coworker, human being, requires retraining yourself. That is training your conscious mind to be the majority operating mode, as opposed to most peoples’ normal operating mode of the subconscious in control 95% of the time.
Make no mistake, the subconscious mind has been your majority operating mode for most of your life and will not relinquish control easily. It is not a fight to the death (for most); However, it does require persistently and consistently using techniques that engage and keep your conscious mind active.
The first step is to learn response enhanced selective focus along with active thought techniques and emotional response guidance; That enables you to reposition your conscious mind as the active majority mental operations mode.
Ask: “What would be the advantage of having your conscious mind at the forefront of your daily life experience?” First, your conscious mind allows you to evaluate and choose your response to conditions. Instead of your subconscious mind automatically reacting based on habits and beliefs. Depending on our life experiences, most of us were taught, learned, and currently hold TOXIC beliefs. “What is a TOXIC belief?”
“Toxic belief” A habit of individually accepted thought that negatively impacts the universal wellbeing, positive outcomes, and individual freedoms of any individual.
Your conscious mind is able to choose and respond by being focused on desired outcomes and experiences. Your subconscious mind will only react not analyze for best outcomes. Your conscious mind is strategic and rational. As opposed to your subconscious mind which is neither strategic nor rational.
When you interact with your world by conscious choice, focus and desired experiences, you insure positive outcomes and experiences. You relate to people, positively engage with people, and interact choosing the desired positive outcome.
In our current society there is a term being used in a way that doesn’t seem to match the intent. If the term “WOKE” was used as implied this would be the definition:
“WOKE” A state of mind where the individual is actively engaged in “Conscious thought.” Thought directed through the lens of universal wellbeing, positive outcomes, and individual freedom.
Unfortunately, it seems many use the term as you are mentally sleep unless you agree with me or us. As per the definition above, most people currently are not “WOKE.” Which simply means they have yet to learn how to operate through their conscious mind as opposed to the unfortunate normal subconscious mind.
You were taught to operate through your subconscious and the odds of you beginning to operate through your conscious mind instead (without learning to), are not good! It’s a completely different outlook and frame of mind! It’s allowing, appreciative, and understanding. It’s rational, logical, and realistic. It lets go of the desire to control the thoughts and actions of others and focuses each individual’s attention on the pursuit of their own desired life experiences. No more trying to rule the world! I know, I just lost some of you 😊
Once you try living consciously you cannot and would never want to go back to the life of anger, confrontation, disappointment, and judgement! It’s how to create and maintain YOUR happiness while allowing others to do the same if they choose to!
